Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network

Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network is a community response to homeless families with children, leveraging the resources and generosity of over 30 congregations in Durham as well as individuals, charitable foundations, and local corporations. DIHN is an emergency shelter accommodating 3 guest families with minor children at a time, with a maximum 3 month stay. Each year, over 800 volunteers from participating congregrations provide the shelter, meals, transportation, and and emotional support on a rotating basis for a week at a time at their facility in the evening hours, while the guests can come to the dayhouse at 1216 N. Roxboro St in Durham to get case management services, use the computer or make calls relative to job search, take showers and do laundry, etc. The clear objective is to move the families into stable housing during the time they are with Durham IHN
