Worldwide, one quarter of all refugees are reported to be living in managed refugee camps, and an estimated 42% of them are children. In these camps, the circumstances are dire due to a lack of education, sanitation, clean drinking water, safe housing, and job opportunities. Additionally, disease and hunger are pervasive, and natural disasters strike regularly. Women and children are extremely vulnerable to abduction, trafficking, sexual and physical violence, and slavery. EarthChildren is an international charitable organization established by a dedicated team of humanitarians of diverse backgrounds in 2020 in response to an identified global need and gap in the provision of holistic, balanced, and sustainable resources and services to orphaned children and vulnerable women in impoverished communities.
