EC1 Lodz - Miasto Kultury w Lodzi

EC1 Lodz City of Culture is a cultural institution established by the City of Lodz and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It is located in a revitalized power plant from 1907. Our institution is responsible for organizing and opening three cultural centres: the National Centre for Film Culture, the Centre for Science and Technology and the Centre for Comics Art and Interactive Narration. This endeavor is worth 100 mln and is one of the biggest cultural projects realized in Poland. EC1 Planetarium - opened January 8th, 2016 - is one of the most modern planetariums in Europe. The dome with a diameter of 14 meters is run by Digistar 5 software (made by Evans&Sutherland, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA). Thanks to the innovative technology, spectators of the show are given an impression that the picture surrounds them. There were over 265.000 visitors during first two years of operation.
