The department of Economics of Shyam Lal College, University of Delhi formed ECOMANIACS, Economics Society in the academic year 2010-11 . The society actively participates in conducting various educational and recreational events reaching hundreds of students of University of Delhi and beyond. In the past, the society has successfully conducted a number of seminars, workshops and competitions to ignite the fighter spirit of the students. Competitions like debates- that test their knowledge of economics as well as poster making, advertisement designing, etc. to stimulate the creative side of students. The society conducts an Annual fest- Economics, that attracts a large crowd from various colleges around Delhi NCR with various formal as well as informal events with exciting prizes. The society even organizes annual freshers and annual farewell ceremony to welcome and bid adieu to the juniors and seniors respectively.
