EL Estudiante news is a new and innovative online platform where people of all ages and walks of life can engage in healthy and intellectually stimulating debates. On the 23rd of June 2016, the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. What followed was a period of disbelief, with many people struggling to make sense of the referendum result. During the days and weeks that followed a lot of issues within the British society became apparent. Many young people felt that older generations had damaged their chances for the future, but what is most worrying is that many people on either side (leave and remain) admitted to not having enough knowledge about the issues at hand to make an informed decision. At EL Estudiante News we believe that this was due to underlying social and economic issues, a lack of political participation as well as a lack of interaction between generations.
