ELNOR is an edtech startup that provides English learning materials and personalized tutoring to adults living in refugee camps. People in camps are amongst the most disadvantaged in the world, and while their immediate needs of food, shelter, and safety are the focus of international entities and governments, education welfare remains overlooked as a necessity. We believe that language learning allows for self-expression for those who are seeking relief and brings professional and social opportunities when establishing a new life. ELNOR has begun a pilot program with a group of adults in Europes largest refugee camp, Moria, which after the fire in September 2020 has been relocated to other areas of the Greek island of Lesbos.
