Ensemble Resonanz

Ensemble Resonanz ranks among the outstanding chamber orchestras of our time. Its programs contextualize music from all eras. As the resident ensemble of the Elbphilharmonie, the ensemble there presents its concert series resonanzen and contributes regularly to the halls festivals and education program. With the club concert series urban string and numerous artistic collaborations in Hamburg, the ensemble has connected classical music in the citys urban society in a way that sets standards and managed to reach out to diverse audiences. In the center of the neighborhood of St. Pauli, the musicians run their resonanzraum, which has become an international model project as both rehearsal space of the ensemble and venue for classical music culture in St. Pauli. The 20-piece string ensemble is an entrepreneurial orchestra, with the musicians bearing artistic and economic responsibility as shareholders.
