etc.venues is part of the Convene portfolio of brands. The company was founded in 1992 by Sally Wilton. After working as a corporate trainer, Wilton saw an opportunity to reimagine what she saw as poorly-serviced, old fashioned training venues. She opened the first etc.venues location at Avonmouth House, South London as a purpose-built venue built with the end users in mind. In 2006, after nearly 15 years of successfully delivering best-in-class training and event experiences, the company drew the attention of a private equity firm that led to further investments into the etc.venues business, ultimately growing its footprint across London and into Manchester, Birmingham, and New York City. In February 2023, etc.venues was acquired by Convene, a global hospitality company that designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible workspaces, forming the largest single provider of dedicated meeting and event venues in the US and UK with a network of 38 locations across nine cities
