Everglades Wonder Gardens

Established in 1936, Everglades Wonder Gardens, is one of the last survivors of Floridas Golden Age of Roadside attractions. The attraction has been a focal point of Bonita Springs since Bill and Lester Piper created the facility to rehabilitate injured animals. The has been under new management since summer of 2013 and invites visitors to enjoy the botanical gardens and see Floridas wildlife in an intimate way, something that modern parks cannot provide. Highlights include a flamingo pond, alligator pool with 40 gators, duck ponds, turtle and tortoise exhibits, butterfly house, orchid trail, extensive new bromeliad garden, five large staghorn ferns, and old growth kapok, shaving brush and African mahogany trees, among dozens of other specimens.
