When we truly care about climate change and all the creatures that walk, fly, swim, and slither along with us, then the most important action each and every one of us can take is be mindful of the footprint we leave behind. Human-caused climate change is disrupting lives and resulting in habitat destruction across the globe today. The main driver for that change is human consumption, so much of it unnecessary. The good news is that the way each of us consume is under our individual control. Right now, we can start making different choices: consume only what we need, not what we merely desire, or consume in less harmful ways. Many of us are already taking such action in our lives, however that is often not an easy choice since our society is currently shaped around over-consumption. At the same time it is hard to see the impact of our individual actions, to know and feel that we are part of something bigger, something where we can truly make a difference.
