FABLAB WINAM

FABLAB WINAM is a hardware innovation and digital fabrication makerspace created to enable people with creative ideas come together to share ideas and tools for prototyping (proof of concept of ideas) and incubation of startups. We focus specially on promoting local manufacturing. The (FABrication LABoratory) concept is based on the ideas of collaboration, decentralization, participation and democratization of manufacturing. It brings opportunities in; supporting STEAM, commercialization of Research at higher education institutions, evolution of smart cities and waste management as well as local industry development and entrepreneurship. This is the only Fablab found outside Nairobi and first time host of Fab Academy 2019 (Fab Academy is a global project-based MOOC digital fabrication course lectured from MIT through video conferencing while students build their projects in local labs) among the only three African Fablabs hosting .
