The Northern District of Florida, Federal Public Defenders Office was established in 1977. The Northern District consists of four divisions, Pensacola, Panama City, Tallahassee and Gainesville. Our headquarters are stationed in Tallahassee, with branch offices in Pensacola and Gainesville. The Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals appointed Charles S. Williams as the first Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Florida on October 10, 1977. Robert J.
