FERCA Construcoes Racionalizadas e Estruturas, Lisboa, Lda is an engineering company dedicated to the marketing of solutions, materials and services related to the world of civil construction. Incorporated with its current name in 1978, Ferca initially focused its activity in the area of lightening, introducing in Portugal the blocks of light concrete and subsequently the recoverable plastic moulds that are still part of the companys portfolio. In 1982 Ferca initiated, in partnership with Freyssinet, the application of post-tensioning systems in buildings, exploring an area of engineering that was at that date rather uncommon at a national and even at a European level in civil construction.
