Finca las Nubes

Finca Las Nubes lies at the feet of the hill El Cajon, at 5 km. from Cafayate, an exceptional location surrounded by carob trees (a local species called algarrobo), and the impressive tall cactus called cardones, along with ancient remnants and terraces. Right at this spot is where Jose Luis Mounier decided to place the vineyards. On these particular soils, situated at an altitude of a roughly 1850 m.a.s.l., popular wine varieties and varietal blends are being developed, the result of these bold vineyards making their way through the cultivated terraces that once belonged to the indigenous community called Diaguitas Calchaquies. Juan Calchaqui, chief of the town Tolombon was the first in after the domination of the Incas who defended these grounds to the Spanish conquers in 1560.
