Fine Art Paintings

I make paintings of lost memory from found family photos. The images are candid and striking, etched patterns quilt the paintings like a blanket, holding all the layers together. Like flashes from the subconscious frozen into domestic myth, the images are meant to create a memory of an event as if it were experienced personally. The characters become icons of domestic archetypes, associating with the viewers own family mythology. The subjects generate geometry describing their spirit, echoing attitudes and emotions, while dematerializing their form. Distinction between the individual and the icon dissolves like experience into memory. The subjects radiate ratios relating to musical tones, weaving and overlapping to make chords of color and pattern, major, minor, dissonant or resolute. The paintings vibrate with geometric pattern, destabilizing the image, making it flutter like a vision of a memory trying to be held in the conscious.
