Fondo para la Accion Ambiental y la Ninez

Fondo para la Accion Ambiental y la Ninez is a nonprofit private foundation. To date, all of its funds have originated with debt swaps between the Colombian and U.S. governments (under the Enterprise for the Americas Initiative and the Tropical Forest Conservation Agreement ). The Funds mission is to generate significant and sustainable changes in Colombian society around two thematic priorities: (a) the conservation of biological diversity, promoting sustainable and equitable development, and protection of ecosystem services, and (b) protection and development of children, with emphasis on early childhood. The Fund has become one of the most important sources of funding for conservation and sustainable development initiatives in Colombia. Fondo Accion invests in conservation projects in threatened ecosystems, focusing on habitat protection and restoration, sustainable development, local participation, and capacity building of nongovernmental and community-based organizations. ...
