Food for Greater Elgin

Food for Greater Elgin is a guest-choice food pantry providing food assistance to those in need. Our guests have access to nutritious options including meat, dairy, produce and shelf-stable items and can shop during one of our five weekly distribution times. Our guest-choice approach offers guests ownership, dignity and the opportunity to choose foods that match their ethnic, dietary or family needs. Each week, we feed more than 3,000 individuals, a third of whom are children. Food for Greater Elgin is one of the three largest pantries in Northern Illinois Food Banks 13-county service area, and the largest in Kane County. Food for Greater Elgin is aggressively addressing food insecurity in our community with ending hunger as our ultimate goal. As we continue to build strategic, collaborative partnerships, we are striving to be the primary resource for food in our region.
