Filipinos, like many in the world, are hungry. But hunger goes beyond the food that we eat. Hunger can mean oppression. It can mean poverty. It can mean broken relationships with God and His creation. Since Dr. Larry Ward founded Food for the Hungry (FH) in 1971 and expanded to the Philippines in 1978, it has become the organizations mission to follow Gods call, responding to human suffering and graduating communities from extreme poverty. Despite the worlds brokenness, Food for the Hungry Philippines (FHP) seeks to bring back faith in Gods goodness and humanity by walking with the most vulnerable people in the hardest places. We work towards holistic transformation by working hand-in-hand with churches, leaders, families, organizations, institutions, and businesses to provide access to life-changing resources, valuable knowledge and skills training, as well as networks so communities can eventually become sustainably independent.
