Foreningen Konstsamfundet r.f

The association Foreningen Konstsamfundet r.f. was founded in 1940 by Mr. Amos Anderson, businessman and cultural patron. In his will, the association Konstsamfundet was regarded as his only legatee. Konstsamfundet fulfills its purpose by operating the Amos Anderson art museum, which, under the name Amos Rex, will be reopened in a new build location in Helsinki city center. According to the will and wish of our founder Amos Anderson, Konstsamfundet is as well to operate the Soderlangvik museum in Amos Andersons former summer residence in Dragsfjard, Southwest Finland. Konstsamfundets main purposes, according to the statutes, are to support arts and different fields of culture for the Swedish speaking Finns in our society. We are providing grants for fine arts, publications, music and theater. Supporting vocational education and training, as well as the teaching of applied sciences, is likewise one of the main tasks.
