Foundation of Exceptional Achievers, Inc

The Foundation of Exceptional Achievers (FEA) was founded in 1997 by Michael Burton and a small group of caring individuals from diverse backgrounds in the Atlanta Metropolitan community. They discovered that there was not one private provider that served adults with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis in a day habilitation setting. Therein, birthed the idea and need for this organization to empower this population as it continues to live up to its name as the foundation for exceptional achievers. It was also in 1997 when FEA was awarded a formal contractual relationship with the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR). Today the Community Access Program continues to be one of the few private DHR contractors in Georgia where people with developmental disabilities and severe behavior disorders are openly accepted and allowed to thrive.
