Foxconn Slovakia

Foxconn Slovakia has been the biggest LCD TVs supplier for the whole European market regarding the volume and capacity of production. The company acquired a stable market position on the foundations built by Sony Slovakia, from 1996 operating in Trnava and from 2007 in Nitra. The Sony manufacturing operation in Nitra had been producing the BRAVIA LCD TV sets for the European market. In its effort to increase profitability in the LCD TV production, the Sony Corporation created a new strategic alliance with the Taiwan Company Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. (Foxconn). Hon Hai focuses on LCD TV production in the European region. Based on mutual agreement, Sony sold a part of its shares in the Nitra plant to the Hon Hai Company. The Nitra plant is a key player in manufacturing Sony LCD TVs in the European region.
