Fredericksburg Area Museum

In significant ways, the history of our community is the history of our nation. For the past 25 years, it has been the privilege and the responsibility of the FAM to be the steward of this defining parcel of American history. The FAM is a vital cultural center and economic engine for Historic Downtown Fredericksburg. Preserving our history, interpreting our cultural heritage, building communityall of these are at the heart of the mission of the FAM. The Museum has attracted thousands of visitors to the Historic District with its exhibitions, educational programs, and summer concert series. Our vision is to serve our diverse community and its neighbors through a commitment to inclusion, integrity, credibility, and relevance. We will be an institution that facilitates the recognition and understanding of the regions nation-shaping history through exploration of our past, illumination of the present, and visioning of the future
