The Morais Family, founders of CHI International and owners of Garden Island Resort, have a decades-long history with Fiji and the island of Taveuni. Philip Morais, our patriarch, has had a home on Taveuni for almost 40 years and considers it a home away from home. Eileen Morais, our matriarch, spent time as a child in Fiji while her father, an explosives engineer, helped open the countrys gold mine. The Morais children, and now grandchildren, regularly come to Fiji to experience the wonder and beauty of the country. The Morais Family was honored to have the opportunity to purchase Garden Island Resort in 2006. By staying true to their family and company philosophy of embracing the culture of the region and creating a relaxed and comfortable environment, Garden Island Resort offers character, warmth, and genuine hospitality.
