Gator Student Investment Fund

The Gator Student Investment Fund (GSIF) is a student-run, long-only equity fund that manages ~$1,100,000 of capital on behalf of the University of Florida endowment. The fund is sector-neutral, is benchmarked to the S&P 500, and employs a core-plus strategy. The funds 40+ members, organized into 8 sector teams, pitch equities to 4 student Portfolio Managers through a fundamentals and valued-oriented approach. The Portfolio Managers make final decisions on security selection and execute trades to ensure the funds risk is within acceptable levels. Sectors include: Technology, Communications, Healthcare, Financials, Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary, Energy and Industrials.
