Gebze Institute of Technology

Gebze Institute of Technology (GYTE) is one of two such institutes of technology founded in Turkey in 1992. It is a university for graduate studies located in a specifically selected area in the Marmara Region. The institute aims to become an institution of learning whose priority is educating innovative and broad-minded researchers, thus establishing itself among the international science and technology producers and helping the Turkish industry gain a strong position in the competitive global arena. The institute, which has been providing graduate programs in various fields in its four different faculties since 1994, started undergraduate programs in the Departments of Materials Science, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Mathematics and Physics as of 2001. All programs are supported in English (30%). GYTE, which currently has 785 undergraduate and 1566 graduate students, employs a total of 372 academic personnel.
