Gebze - Izmir Otoyolu Isletme ve Bakm A.S

The Gebze-Izmir project is a toll motorway procured by the Turkish General Directorate of Highways under a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) Model. This project is the largest BOT project in Turkey up to now. It includes 420 km of motorway (2x3 lanes) between Gebze (on the North shore of Izmit Bay) and Izmir, as well as a 3,000m suspension bridge crossing Izmit bay, three tunnels with an approximate cumulative length of 6km and 20 toll stations. The project is implemented in two phases. The first phase from km 0 (Gebze) to km 58 includes the 3,000m Izmit bay suspension bridge which is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world by the length of its central span (1,550m). The level of traffic for the first phase is expected to be about 40,000 vehicles per day.
