General Prosecutors Office of Albania

The General Prosecutor is the head of the General Prosecutors Office and is responsible for the work of the Prosecution and the prosecution offices at the courts of general jurisdiction of the first instance and the appellate court. The Prosecutor General is elected by three-fifths of the members of the Assembly, among the three candidates proposed by the High Council of the Prosecution, for a 7-year term and without the right of reappointment. The General Prosecutor is appointed in accordance with Article 148 / a of the Constitution. The Attorney General represents the prosecution in the High Court and cases in the Constitutional Court, unless represented by the Special Prosecution.
