Geordie Theatre

Founded in 1980, Geordie Productions is one of Canadas leading professional producers of Theatre for Young Audiences. Its goal is to fire up the imagination, entertain and challenge audiences of all ages. Geordie believes in the power of theatre to encourage dialogue between youths and their parents, their teachers and among their peers, which is why every year the company creates plays which reflect the reality that young people currently live in. The Geordie 2Play School Tour is Canadas largest running annual theatre tour, lasting 7 months while travelling an average of 27 800 kilometers to perform over 300 performances to more than 60 000 kids. It presents two plays, one for kids and one for teens, in schools and community centres across Eastern Canada, exploring and initiating dialogue about thought-provoking subjects as varied as: bullying; cultural diversity, identity, and other youth specific themes.
