Georgetown Prison Outreach Initiative

The mission of Prison Outreach is to integrate educational programming into jails in the DMV area. We believe that the criminal justice system is more punitive than it is rehabilitative, and we see our educational mission as a valuable component of the movement to dismantle unjust systems that perpetuate racism and inequality in the law. We will work within the current system to improve upon it, to acknowledge the humanity and value of incarcerated peoples in our society, and to advocate for reform of the criminal justice system in America
