GIBSONS COFFEE LTD

While Coffee was first introduced in Kenya in 1893, the first crop of Gibsons coffee was planted in the early 1960s by our father (Gibson) after Kenya won its independence from the British Government. On that small farm of five acres, Gibson planted the first Arabica coffee tree variety SL34/SL28 and went on to produce the best quality of Kenyan coffee the world has ever tasted. Now 50 years later, we continue produce the best quality coffee in hundreds of acres. Our combined farms are situated on the slopes of Mt. Kenya just a few meters from the equator horizon line. Gibsons coffee is first handpicked, then sorted & sun-dried. After that process, the parchment beans are sent to a milling factory where husks are pulped and the resulting green beans are mechanically separated into 7 grades according to size, shape and weight.
