Welcome to the Grand Traverse Motel! Experience an authentic up north small-town getaway just a block from the stunning Grand Traverse West Bay and a short walk to downtown. GT Motel was built in the 1950s as a one-story building just outside of town to provide a budget option to Traverse Citys seasonal visitors. In the 1970s, the motel added a second story with more rooms to accommodate the increase in visitors to our well-situated city. In 2018, the motel transferred ownership for the third time since its establishment, continuing GT Motels tradition as a family-owned and operated property. Our motel is located a short walk from downtown Traverse City, where youll find everything from our modish Little Fleet a food truck lot infused with both community and art, a number of brewpubs (find your favorite!), shopping, coffee shops, and plenty of ice cream options.
