Greenbriar Childrens Center was established in 1949 as an orphanage for African-American children in Savannah and the surrounding areas. In the 1960s, we opened our doors to children of all races and diversified our services to meet changing needs. We provide emergency shelter to children through age 17 who are victims of abuse or abandonment. We operate a family preservation program to help prevent abuse, neglect and the breakdown of the family structure. We also provide in home family counseling and services at our main facility.
