A charitable organization that advances food security in the Fredericton Area through inclusive programs and services. Greener Village Pillars: - Food Bank and Clothing Boutique - Learning Kitchen - Community Gardens - Life Skills Development Over 30 years, Greener Village has become a gathering place for those who share the idea that food can bridge whatever might divide us. Just as food brings us around a table, so too can it bring our community together behind our belief that the challenges of life will not ever exceed our capacity to care for one another. The problem is real and growing. In 2012, the Canadian Community Health Survey indicated that 15.6% of households in New Brunswick were food insecure, 2.6% higher than the national average. These figures reveal that there are 47,000 food insecure households in New Brunswick.
