THE GREENLAND COMPANY A new business venture established last year known as The Greenland Company intends to take advantage of a new possibility of marketing the skin of the Greenland shark to international furniture designers and fashion houses. We have had the skin tested, and the results show that it is up to five times stronger than regular cow leather. As far as quality is concerned it is right up there with crocodile skin. The company was founded by Nauja Lynge together with Ulrik Merrild and Preben Mejer. The company aim to ensure that as much of the shark is used as possible, entering into negotiations with other companies that could create side products from the eventual shark skin industry. The sharks could be used for dog food and in research to name but a couple of secondary uses.
