Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission

The Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission is the independent regulator of the greyhound racing industry in NSW. The Commission is responsible for administering the Greyhound Racing Rules, registering greyhounds and industry participants (including but not limited to owners, breeders, trainers, book makers and race officials) and investigating animal welfare and integrity concerns relating to greyhound racing in NSW. The Commission employs race stewards, inspectors, investigators and veterinarians who all play an important role in safe guarding the welfare of registered greyhounds and the integrity of the industry. In doing so, the Commission hopes to increase public confidence in an industry undergoing major reforms.
