Raquel E. Carter is the principal broker and owner of Guide Realty, a full-service real estate firm headquartered in Lexington, KY. Raquel became a licensed REALTOR and member of the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR) in 2002. In 2008, Raquel and her mother, Phyllis Alexander, left a larger real estate firm to open Guide Realty. Guide Realty began as a small, boutique office and under Raquels leadership has expanded to include a full administrative staff, over 30 REALTORS in Central Kentucky and North Carolina and a community-facing professional rental space, The Compass Center, making Guide Realty Kentuckys largest African American owned real estate company. In 2020, Raquel was appointed to the Kentucky Real Estate Commission by Governor Andy Beshear. She is currently serving her first term as KREC Commissioner where she is a member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee.
