Study after study has shown that the lack of decent and affordable housing is a root cause of poverty worldwide. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area is attacking poverty here in our community one home, home family at a time, by using new homes and home repairs to drive family and community economic development. Heres how: We take vacant land and build simple, decent and affordable homes, which supports the local tax base. Materials are purchased from local building materials suppliers, sustaining jobs.
