Hampden Fire Department

The Hampden Fire Department is undergoing many changes to bring us up to current times and practices, which will enable us to further provide higher levels of care and service to the people of Hampden and the surrounding communities. The Hampden Fire Department and the Town of Hampden have seen history being made as our first three Full-Time/Career Firefighters have been added to the workforce. Having these three personnel manning the station Monday through Friday during business hours enables us to respond immediately to Fire, Rescue, Hazardous Materials, and Medical calls while awaiting for further staffing to respond. On top of the addition of the Full Time firefighters, the rest of the department members have transitioned from a completely Volunteer force to what is known as Paid-On-Call, or a Call Department.
