Harmony School of Music

Harmony School of Music launched in 2017 to provide youth development programs in Cedar Rapids, regardless of ability to pay. Harmony School began as a Suzuki-based music school with need-based scholarships available. While searching for the best way to reach children in need, director Jessica Altfillisch discovered El Sistema, a Venezuelan music program that transformed education in that nation. Our first free program launched in September 2017 in partnership with Johnson STEAM Academy.
