HART Homeless Animal Rescue Team of Maine

HART (Homeless Animal Rescue Team) of Maine is a no-kill shelter and adoption center for cats in Cumberland, Maine. HARTs mission is to provide refuge, comfort, and comprehensive medical attention for all cats that have been surrendered, abandoned, injured, or abusedand to find appropriate community placements for them. HART began in a renovated barn in 1997 and our shelter building was constructed in 2004. It was custom designed for cat sheltering and offers our feline residents an open environment which allows them the freedom to run, play, and form bonds with each other. All of our cats receive lots of love and attention as well as expert veterinary care. HART offers its services to people who can no longer provide the ideal home for their cats, as well as to cats that may have never had a home to call their own.
