Hawaii Tribune-Herald is a daily broadsheet newspaper distributed on the Hilo-area of Hawaiis Big Island. The newspaper is the primary news source for Hilo residents and locals. Circulation is 16,000 Monday through Friday and 18,000 on Sunday. Hawaii Tribune-Herald is owned and operated by Oahu Publications, Inc. Since its establishment in 2001, Oahu Publications Inc. has emerged as Hawaiis major print media company. OPIs flagship publication is the daily Honolulu Star-Advertiser, established in 2010 when the Honolulu Star-Bulletin (est. 1882) and The Honolulu Advertiser (est.1856) merged after OPI purchased The Honolulu Advertiser from Gannett Corp.
