The Hawkins Law Firm defends those who are accused of DUI and related charges in and around metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. Michael M. Hawkins obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama in 1989 and a Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law in 1992. Mr. Hawkins served as a prosecutor in metro Atlanta for 5 years before entering private practice in 1996. He became Board Certified in DUI Defense by the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD) in 2001 and is recognized as Board Certified in DUI Defense by the American Bar Association. In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Regents for the NCDD. He is a frequent lecturer in Georgia and nationally on DUI defense issues. He serves as Vice-Chairman of the DUI Committee for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and served locally as President of the DeKalb Bar Association.
