Founded in 1978, hemmler + camayd architects serves a variety of public and private clients in the Mid-Atlantic region in master planning, space planning, building and interior design, historic preservation and sustainable (LEED) design. 1978 was not an auspicious year to start an architectural practice in Scranton, PA. The local economy struggled to transition from the declining anthracite coal industry to a modern, service economy. Architects reached beyond our region in search of larger commissions, leaving a void that was to be filled by Leung Hemmler and Camayd architects, three young architects sharing a more promising vision of our regions future.
