Hearts of Gold NYC

Hearts of Gold is a New York City-based, grass roots non-profit founded by Deborah Koenigsberger in 1994. Its mission and purpose are to transform the lives of single, homeless mothers and their children, helping them to break the vicious cycle of homelessness. In its 29+ years of existence, Hearts of Gold has positively impacted more than 35,000 moms and children. It has proven that focused emotional and physical supportpaired with educational and occupational traininghelps homeless mothers become economically self-sufficient; lead happy, healthy, productive lives; and ultimately breaks this cycle of poverty and homelessness for their families.
