The Health Institution of South Iceland (HSU) was established on October 1st, 2014, in the largest Health District of the country, by consolidating The Health Institution of Southeast Iceland (HSSa), Health Institution of South Iceland (HSU) and the Health Institution of Vestmannaeyjar (HSVe). The goal of this consolidation of the health institutions of South Iceland was to strengthen health service in the area, combine professional expertise and provide a more economical service.
