Help A Girl Out NP Canada

Help A Girl Out is an anti-poverty organization with the goal to eliminate period poverty and menstrual shame in Canada and developing countries. While our main mission is to bring about access to menstrual supplies to all who need them, we also provide various other services to our community. We launch year-round anti-stigma campaigns to raise awareness and change the conversation around periods in order to reduce the harmful effects of period shaming. We host virtual and in-person workshops to educate women and young girls about their bodies, in an effort to fill in the gaps in knowledge left by generations and traditions of shame and silence and to disprove myths. We provide additional hygiene and maternity supplies to families living below the poverty line. In 2020, we were awarded Canadas Hero award from international advocacy organization Global Citizen, for our efforts to achieve menstrual equity in Canada.
