Based on a survey released by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2019, it is clear that Indonesia has a low literacy rate. Indonesian literacy is mentioned in the results of the survey in 62nd place out of 70 countries. Henbuk found that these problems were at least caused by difficult access to bookstores, expensive book prices and unattractive book content. From the supply side, there are also obstacles that cause books to be expensive and writers are reluctant to write their works. Authors need money to print books, while this capital may not necessarily be financially profitable due to the small author royalties. Distribution of books is also the cause of high book prices.
