The mission of the Herrin Community School District is- To create a safe, orderly learning environment conducive to preparation of highly motivated students; To work to ensure that all students achieve to the maximum potential of their abilities; and To prepare students to be successful in their career/technical training or higher education and in the workplace. Central to this areas economy is the Herrin Community School System, which has an annual budget of about $18 million. The School System is one of the communitys largest employers with approximately 300 employees, each playing a vital role in providing quality education for all students by offering complete academic programs with the flexibility to meet students individual needs.
