The Highway Hospice is a Social Impact Organization in Durban South Africa. Established in 1982, Highway Hospice was the first in-patient unit in South Africa providing palliative care. Patients are terminally ill and suffer from incurable, advanced illness and HIV/aids. The Hospice philosophy is to treat the human being and not the illness and as such the work is multidisciplinary.
