Hobart Womens Shelter

The Hobart Womens Shelter provides safe, emergency accommodation and support to women and children who are affected by family violence and/or those who are experiencing homelessness. The Shelter operates 25 emergency accommodation units and 10 transitional properties that provide medium term accommodation for families. Our team use a trauma-informed practice framework to assist women and children to address their unique and specific needs such as housing, legal, health, education, employment, financial, and emotional support. We offer a holistic range of therapeutic programs to empower women and children to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Every program has an emphasis on promoting wellbeing, enhancing self-esteem, confidence, and interpersonal growth.
